A car potato is a bit like being a couch potato. Instead of staring at the TV car potatoes sit in their cars staring at lines of stationary traffic. Travel South Yorkshire is asking individuals, schools and businesses to stop being a car potato and consider a greener alternative such as walking, cycling, car sharing, park and ride or public transport instead. Leave your car at home and take the Go Travel Challenge and find out how you can experience a low car diet: • Save money on fuel and parking costs • Get healthy by walking or cycling • Help the environment by reducing pollution and improve the air we breathe. Take the challenge by coming along to the Go Travel Challenge events in Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley on Saturday 20th September.
